Last summer, we published an article listing the 12 reasons why we love City Foundry STL, and it’s clear we aren’t the only ones who cherish this local treasure.
For the fourth consecutive year, the City Foundry STL Food Hall has landed a spot among the nation’s best, earning a nomination for Best Food Hall in the U.S. in the USA Today 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards.
The recognition reflects both the scale and staying power of the Midtown destination, which now draws more than 2 million visitors annually. At the heart of it all are the 18 locally driven kitchens that continue to showcase the depth and diversity of St. Louis’ dining scene under one roof.
“It really speaks to the consistency of what’s happening at the Food Hall and all around City Foundry,” said Matt Sorth, director of operations. “Our visitorship has risen every year since we opened, which shows it’s something people keep coming back to and believing in.”
Unlike many awards programs, the final rankings for 10BEST are determined entirely by public vote. That means the next step belongs to St. Louis.
“People should vote because this is a chance to put St. Louis on the national stage,” Sorth said. “Every vote truly makes a difference.”
While City Foundry has secured a nomination each of the past three years, it has yet to claim the top spot, finishing in the upper tier at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6. This year, organizers see a real opportunity to break through.
More than a win for a single destination, Sorth emphasizes, a strong showing would spotlight the broader community of chefs, small businesses and creatives that fuel the space.
“When you vote, you’re supporting local talent and the entire community that makes City Foundry special,” he said. “It’s a simple way to show pride in St. Louis.”
Voting is open now through April 13, with fans allowed to cast one vote per day. Winners will be announced April 22. A No. 1 finish would mark a milestone not just for City Foundry, but for St. Louis’ continued rise as a national culinary destination. So head over to the voting page and support this venerable institution so needed by our city.
