La Pâtisserie STL will reopen on Feb. 1 as La Pâtisserie Paris, inviting guests to savor a renewed vision of French tearoom charm. Nestled in the lower level at 524 S. Main St. in St. Charles, the newly reimagined space offers a French-inspired retreat where elegance, artistry and community come together. Guests can expect an experience designed to slow time, from carefully curated pastries and delicate teas to thoughtfully arranged décor that evokes the charm of a Parisian tea salon.

More than a simple rebranding, this transformation reflects a continuation of a beloved story honoring the legacy of founder Kitt Villasis-Corbin, whose international culinary training and inventive approach to French- and Asian-inspired pastries set a new standard for the region. With the trust and guidance of Villasis-Corbin, owner Natacha Douglas – who also owns French Creperie and La Vie Vegan Bistro – now steps into this next chapter, blending her own French heritage and hospitality with the artistry and care that have long defined the space.

“The space is designed to feel warm, elegant and intentionally beautiful without ever feeling pretentious,” Douglas said. “I want guests to feel transported yet completely at ease – like they’ve stepped into a charming Paris tea salon where time slows down.”

That sense of transport is intentional. As a French native, Douglas has always carried a dream of bringing the culture she grew up with to her community – not as a spectacle, but as an invitation. La Pâtisserie Paris was born from that desire, shaped by gratitude for the St. Louis area that embraced her journey and by a deep commitment to honoring the legacy of Kitt Villasis-Corbin, who entrusted Douglas with continuing the work she loved.

“Being chosen by Kitt to continue her life’s work is an honor I take deeply to heart,” Douglas shared. “Kitt built far more than a bakery; she created a community rooted in artistry, generosity and joy.”

That spirit lives on in every corner of the tearoom, where classic Parisian charm meets a modern, fashion-forward sensibility. The menu reflects the same thoughtful balance: indulgent yet approachable, elegant yet comforting. Afternoon tea service features flavorful teas, delicate sandwiches, mini pastries and warm scones with clotted cream and jam. Signature favorites, from almond croissants to house-made blueberry scones,  are crafted not just to be enjoyed, but to be savored with company.

“The tea room concept invites guests to slow down,” Douglas said. “Pastries are meant to be enjoyed with intention, paired thoughtfully with tea, conversation and atmosphere.”

At its heart, La Pâtisserie Paris celebrates the community that has long embraced its story and continues to make this new chapter possible. Keeping the business rooted here was never a question for Douglas. This is where Kitt’s work was cherished. This is where stories were built. And this is where her legacy continues.

As the tearoom prepares to welcome its first guests, Douglas hopes visitors leave with more than just a sweet memory. “There is something truly special about the ritual of dressing up and sharing an elegant French tearoom experience with someone you love,” she shared. “I’m excited to introduce that sense of occasion to St. Louis.”

In a world that rarely slows down, La Pâtisserie Paris offers something quietly radical: a moment to pause, to savor and to feel at home – even if just for the length of a perfect cup of tea.
