Even if you’ve never prayed before, you might want to say a little prayer for mercy – and good digestion – after ordering the Tower of Doom.
The more-than-formidable eating challenge is offered at the Brewhouse Historical Sports Pub at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch, on the eatery’s new summer menu. It’s a giant stack of 12 four-ounce beef patties (that’s three pounds of meat), a half-pound of bacon, a half-pound of cheese, barbecue sauce and jalapeno peppers (plus a pound of fries). Oy Vey.
Eat this beast in 30 minutes and it’s free, plus you win a T-shirt. (Otherwise, it’s $30.)
The Tower of Doom joins other jumbo-food challenges around town such as the pizza challenges at Pointer’s and Talayna’s, and the milkshake challenge at Crown Candy Kitchen.
Speaking of Crown Candy, you may recall the host of TV’s “Man v. Food,” Adam Richman, failing the malt shop’s milkshake challenge in spectacular fashion when he came to St. Louis. The new season of “Man v. Food” begins airing this week on the Travel Channel.
