Winning wines included: NV Merlot, which received a rating of 92; the 2009 Vignoles and 2007 Norton, both of which garnered 91 points; and NV Cabernet Sauvignon, which earned a rating of 90. Mount Pleasant’s 2007 Norton and NV Cabernet Sauvignon were also both named a Cellar Selection, meaning that the independent wine and spirits reviewer believes the wine will improve significantly with at least three to five years of age.

Three other Mount Pleasant wines received high marks from Beverage Testing Institute. The NV Norton won a silver medal with a rating of 88 and, priced at $10 a bottle, was named a Best Buy. The 2009 Villagio was also awarded a silver metal and received 89 points. Lastly, NV Claret earned a Bronze Medal and a rating of 84. The Beverage Tasting Institute considers wines with a rating between 90 to 95 to be “exceptional,” while those receiving 85 to 89 points are “highly recommended” and those scoring between 80 and 84 are “recommended.”

“We are honored and thrilled to be recognized with such high marks from the Beverage Testing Institute,” said Mount Pleasant’s president Chuck Dressel in a press release. “Taking home four gold medals is an amazing accomplishment from this well-respected organization.

We’ll raise a glass to these victories!
