Pop Pop Hurray, a St. Louis-based gourmet popcorn company known for its innovative flavors and strong community presence, is expanding to downtown St. Louis in its largest space yet.

Founded in Ferguson, where the original store still operates, Pop Pop Hurray later opened in St. Charles before relocating to City Foundry STL. The downtown shop will mark the company’s third grand opening since 2020. The new location will be at 1100 Locust St. and is expected to open at the end of March.

The new space will not only operate as a retail storefront for customers but will also serve as the company’s main production hub, with twice as much space as its founding location, unlocking expansion into grocery and hospitality markets.

Tony Davis, founder and CEO of Pop Pop Hurray, said customers can expect the same experience as other stores, but in a different flavorful format.

“We’re adjusting our model a little bit. We usually have all 50 on the wall, but this time we’re going to try to go into more of a hybrid,” Davis said. “We’ll have our standard 25 at all times, but then we’ll feature five flavors every week that we’ll rotate to keep it fresh.”

Customers can also expect location-exclusive flavors, from savory options like pizza and dill pickle to sweet offerings like birthday cake and lemon pound cake. Pop Pop Hurray is always experimenting and releasing bold flavors that are often customer-driven.

“The ideas come from everywhere, and we’ll try almost everything,” Davis said.

Aside from popcorn – available in bags and tins – Pop Pop Hurray also offers slushies, milkshakes and hand-scooped ice cream.

Pop Pop Hurray is partnering with Greater STL Inc. to align the expansion with broader efforts to drive economic growth and tourism in downtown St. Louis. The partnership evolved from the original vision to do a temporary popcorn pop-up in downtown.

“We decided to make the commitment to go beyond a pop-up and actually put a footprint into downtown,” Davis said.

Pop Pop Hurray is eager to use this space to fulfill growing orders from its current customer base and welcomes new retail and hospitality outlets to join the company in bringing “More Flava. More Fun.” to every customer.
