It’s down to two services for Shell’s Coastal Cuisine food truck. After a four-and-a-half year run, one of The Lou’s first mobile eateries will park for good after lunch service Friday, Dec. 18 at Wells Fargo downtown.

“I’ve been considering it for a few months,” said owner Shelley McMahan. “It’s my time to see what else I can pull off out there.”

McMahan, who has no immediate future plans, has 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry and said she enjoyed the time spent running her own truck. “It’s the hardest work I’ve ever done,” she said. “It’s also the most fun I’ve ever had working. It’s been super rewarding and I’ve learned a ton. Everyone has been awesome, from the other truck owners to the customers. I’ll miss the customers terribly.”

This is the second food truck closure announcement in as many weeks; Chop Shop STL served its last sushi roll last Friday, Dec. 10.
