Editor’s note: Due to the rainy weather forecast for this weekend, the games have been postponed to July 18 & 19.

There’s going to be a banana bonanza in St. Louis this weekend as the Savannah Bananas bring their high-energy, fan-favorite Banana Ball World Tour to Busch Stadium for two sold-out games on April 4 and 5. To celebrate, several local businesses are hosting banana-themed events, offering everything from festive food and drinks to special promotions.

St. Louis Union Station is leading the charge with themed attractions and activities throughout the weekend. To mark the occasion, the 200-foot-tall St. Louis Wheel at Union Station will shine bright in banana yellow from April 4 to 6. The observation wheel offers a sweeping 20-mile view of the city, giving Bananas fans a picturesque way to soak in the excitement.

The Soda Fountain at Union Station is joining the celebration with a limited-time Freak Shake called “Will Play for Bananas.” Available April 4 to 6, the banana-flavored shake features a banana-rimmed glass, a Banana Ball-themed sugar cookie, banana Laffy Taffy rope, baseball gumballs, whipped cream and a cherry on top.

Fans who show their Bananas spirit by wearing yellow to the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station from April 4 to 6 will receive a free aquarium T-shirt with their paid admission, while supplies last. The aquarium will also extend its hours on April 4 and 5, staying open until 8 p.m.

For those heading to the games, Union Station is offering free shuttles to Busch Stadium on April 4 and 5. The service begins at 5 p.m. and runs continuously until after the game. Shuttles will depart from the entrance of the St. Louis Aquarium, providing an easy and convenient way for fans to get to the ballpark.

City Museum is joining the festivities as well, hosting Go Bananas weekend from April 4 to 6. Visitors can make banana-themed crafts in Art City on the fourth floor and enjoy an array of banana-inspired treats throughout the museum, including banana pudding parfaits at Baby Elephant Café, banana nut muffins at Overflow Café, frozen chocolate-covered bananas on the rooftop, and Banana Ball cocktails at various bars inside the museum.

Clementine’s Ice Cream is also bringing back its boozy banana rum ice cream for a limited time.

Across the river, DraftKings at Casino Queen is also getting in on the fun with a special cocktail. Fans can sip on the Go Bananas cocktail, a tropical mix of banana liqueur, coconut rum, pineapple juice and orange juice. The casino and hotel, located at 200 Front St., will also provide a complimentary shuttle for Bananas fans heading to the game on April 4 and 5, running 90 minutes before first pitch and continuing until an hour after the final out.

With so many local spots joining in on the fun, and likely more that we’ve missed here, expect plenty of banana-inspired food and drink from downtown restaurants throughout the weekend.
