Ever since DD Mau opened its expansive new Webster Groves space, we’ve found ourselves craving the restaurant’s fresh, flavor-packed take on Vietnamese food on a near-weekly basis. Between the noodle bowls, spring rolls, pho and some of the best tacos in town, DD Mau has built one of the most consistently satisfying fast-casual concepts in the region. The restaurant also operates a second location in Maryland Heights, bringing its bright, feel-good approach to Vietnamese cuisine to diners across the metro area.

Now, DD Mau is giving fans a way to bring one of its most beloved flavors home with the launch of its first-ever retail product line, headlined by Shih’s So Spicy, a housemade chili oil inspired by owner Julie Shih’s husband and business partner, Andrew Shih, and his family recipes.

Priced at $10 per jar, the chili oil has become a quiet obsession among DD Mau regulars, who drizzle it over everything from wings and fried rice to pho, noodle bowls and spring rolls. Made with a secret blend of chilis and spices rooted in Andrew Shih’s Chinese heritage, the condiment delivers layered heat, crunch and savory depth designed to elevate dishes far beyond the restaurant’s menu.

To celebrate the launch, DD Mau will host a retail debut party from noon to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 6, at its Webster Groves location. The event will introduce the restaurant’s new dedicated retail section, where guests can shop Shih’s So Spicy alongside beef tallow and branded merchandise including T-shirts, aprons and stickers. Customers will also be able to sample the chili oil paired with DD Mau menu items, and anyone purchasing food during the event will receive a discount on retail products.

“This chili oil has always been something special to us because it’s rooted in family recipes and flavors we grew up with,” Andrew Shih said in a statement. “Our guests have been asking to buy it for years, so launching Shih’s So Spicy felt like the perfect first step into retail. We’re excited for people to experience DD Mau beyond the restaurant and bring a little bit of our kitchen home with them.”

Alongside the chili oil launch, DD Mau is also rolling out a limited Father’s Day bundle beginning June 6 at both locations. The $60 package includes Shih’s So Spicy chili oil, beef tallow, a DD Mau T-shirt, apron, long chopsticks, Andrew’s custom rice blend and lemongrass marinade.

The chili oil and retail collection will be available in-store, through online ordering and via third-party delivery platforms. Both DD Mau locations are open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
