David Weglarz announced that he was opening a distillery some 16 months ago. True to his word, Weglarz’s distillery, StilL 630, has finally gotten past the red tape, and he’s holding a grand opening this weekend to celebrate.
You can cheer the newest addition to the local distilling scene from the sidelines, or, better yet, show up in person and raise a shot glass in support. You’ll be able to sip two of Weglarz’s spirits – Big Jake White Dog Whiskey (that he described in the May 2012 issue of Sauce) and Rally Point Rye Whiskey – plus tour the distillery, which is located at 1000 S. Fourth St., at the intersection of Chouteau Avenue, on the fringes of Soulard.
The grand opening will take place this Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Can’t make it? StilL 630 will hold tours every weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. Tours are free and include complimentary spirits samples.
