060911_subzeroSub Zero, the popular vodka bar and restaurant in the Central West End, is planning an expansion, owner Derek Gamlin told The Scoop this morning. Gamlin and his brother and business partner, Lucas Gamlin, expect to sign the lease on July 1 to occupy the space at 312 N. Euclid Ave., which is next door to Sub Zero’s current space at 308 N. Euclid Ave. The tenant currently leasing that space, hair salon Coiffures By Shawn, is expected to relocate to a space on the second level of the building.

The additional 1,200 square feet of space will enable Sub Zero’s kitchen to expand and provide more dining capacity. Look for the sushi bar to be relocated to the soon-to-be acquired space as well, with increased length for more comfortable bar seating. Upon inking the deal, which will bring the total square footage at Sub Zero to 4,300, the Gamlin brothers expect to start construction immediately and complete the project by late October.
