The restaurant scene continues to grow in Edwardsville, Ill. Teaspoons Cafe recently opened at 2125 S. Route 157, serving breakfast and lunch, and offering a variety of tea and coffee drinks.

All bakery items sold at the cafe are made in-house and include regulars like cinnamon rolls, gooey-butter cake and quiche. According to manager Shane Nettleton, whose fiancé Becky Hultz owns the business while Nettleton’s mother helms the kitchen, cookies, cakes and other sweet treats will also be rotating daily. Lunch fare, available after 11 a.m., includes sandwiches made using bread by local bakery Fazio’s as well as wraps, salads and a daily house-made soup. The cafe offers more than 40 loose-leaf teas, steeped to order and available by the teapot for one or two people. Hot and cold coffee beverages feature Kaldi’s beans.

Edwardsville’s newest cafe is open weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on weekends from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The cafe’s website is currently under construction, but you can check out Teaspoon’s Cafe on its Facebook page.
