This week on The Sauce podcast, executive editor Meera Nagarajan and managing editor Liz Wolfson discuss omakase at Nobu’s, the new Japanese restaurant in University City. It’s currently the only restaurant in the area offering this multi-course, traditional Japanese meal style, so tune in to hear Meera’s thoughts on the many dishes she tried.
They also talk tacos at DD Mau, shopping at Parker’s Table, and croffles at Cafe Ganadara, the new Korean restaurant from the owners of Chicken Seven. A croffle is a mash-up of a croissant and a waffle, and you definitely want to try one.
Additionally, they revisit the origins of the magazine’s “Eat This” column, which has been the intro to each issue since 2008. They discuss some of their forever favorites featured in the column: the Sonny’s Veggie sandwich at Adriana’s On the Hill, the mango sticky rice at Mai Lee, the shrimp scampi at Peppe’s Apt. 2 (the interior of which Liz thinks sounds like a “tiny Versailles in Kirkwood”), and the spinach-and-cheese pie at J’s Pitaria.
