A new all-day gathering space is coming to the Central West End. Bel Air Social, the latest concept from Kansas City-based Abbott Hospitality, is set to open this summer at 4630 Lindell Blvd. in the former Bel Air Motel. The venue will offer a modern, community-focused atmosphere with offerings from morning coffee to late-night cocktails.
Designed as more than just a food hall, Bel Air Social will include a full-service coffee bar, a curated cocktail program, and space for three independent dining vendors. So far, two concepts have been announced: Pizza Via, a local favorite known for its hand-tossed pies, and Outpost Coffee [& Bricks], a hybrid coffee bar and Lego lab. One vendor stall remains available for lease, with more food partners to be announced in the coming weeks.
“This isn’t a food hall,” said Matt Abbott, founder of Abbott Hospitality. “We’ve created a space that flows naturally and encourages people to linger. The layout, the offerings, and the energy all work together to create something that feels connected.”
Bel Air Social’s outdoor area will feature an activities lawn, designed for informal gatherings, lawn games and live music. The space is meant to extend the venue’s mission of fostering community and connection beyond its walls.
Abbott said the neighborhood’s legacy played a key role in the company’s decision to launch its first St. Louis concept in the Central West End.
“The Central West End has a long history of bringing people together, from the Mississippian communities of the ninth century to the 1904 World’s Fair, and all the vibrant culture that exists here today,” he said. “We were drawn to that legacy. Bel Air Social is our contribution to the next chapter of the neighborhood’s story.”
Abbott Hospitality already has a strong presence in Missouri, with several properties in Kansas City’s Crossroads District, including Hotel Indigo KC, The Abbott, The Bardot, The Harlow and The Austin. The company also operates venues in Naperville, Illinois; Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; and West Des Moines, Iowa, with more openings planned.
“St. Louis has always been on our radar,” Abbott said. “There’s so much creativity and momentum here. We’re excited to add something new that complements the neighborhood’s energy and character.”
