After 10 years in the Delmar Loop, the U City Farmers Market has relocated to Heman Park in University City, offering visitors a new, scenic spot to enjoy the market experience. Shaded by trees and surrounded by green space, the park provides an inviting setting for the community to shop and socialize.

“At the Midwest Association of Farmers Markets, we’re always looking for ways to better serve our community of market-goers and vendors at the U City Farmers Market,” said Deborah Henderson executive director of the association. “While there are a lot of exciting new developments in the Delmar Loop where UCFM called home for many years, we thought there would be room for more growth and opportunities in a new location.”

The market continues to serve as a community hub where people of all ages can explore a wide range of offerings, from locally grown produce brought directly by regional farmers to artisanal foods, prepared foods and handcrafted goods.

In addition to shopping, visitors can enjoy live music each week, chef demos with tastings, engaging kids’ activities, and a rotating schedule of special events.

“Everyone is really enjoying the beauty of Heman Park near Centennial Commons,” she said. “The trees, greenery and even the birds singing in the morning provide a lovely environment for a farmers market. We’re very happy to be there and it’s so convenient too – easy to get to from just about everywhere and the park offers many amenities for visitors to enjoy.”

The market runs every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through Nov. 22, and on Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. from May 22 through Sept. 25. The new location is at 7210 Olive Blvd., near Centennial Commons in Heman Park. Free parking is available in lots adjacent to the market.
