Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together butter, banana, eggs, molasses and vanilla.
In a separate large bowl, whisk together the flour, white sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients; do not over-mix.
Mix in the walnuts.
Bake in a buttered loaf pan in a 350 degree oven for about an hour.
