February can mean freezing temps and dreary winter days, but don’t let the potential for less-than-ideal weather stop you from getting out and having fun. From Mardi Gras festivities to a coffee festival, a beer festival and so much more, there’s a lot going on this month. Celebrate St. Louis’ vibrant art scene with live music, great food and delicious drinks at Schlafly’s downtown taproom. View work from over 40 top St. Louis area artists, including tattoo artists who will be doing live work throughout the weekend. Enjoy live music from The Teenage Dirtbags, Steve Ewing Duo, AYDAMN, Number One Sons, Middle Class Fashion, The 45, Steven Woolley and The Winks. St. Louis Blues Warriors Hockey, a team of disabled veterans who share a passion for hockey, will raffle off tickets to an upcoming Blues game. Schlafly will donate a portion of sales to support the Warriors along with other charities, including The Muse Room, Artists First and Blues Warrior Artists. Admission to Art Inside is free. For one evening, the St. Louis Beer Fest will take over the St. Louis Science Center after hours. The event features over 40 breweries and 120 beers. Admission to this ticketed event includes samplings from participating breweries and access throughout the museum and exhibits. Ticket price varies; find more information on the event’s website.

The Downtown Holiday Inn Hotel will be the site of MissouriCon, a convention that celebrates pop culture, from comic books and anime to sci-fi and fantasy characters. This one-day event features local artists, vendors and a cosplay contest. MissouriCon is fun for the whole family and admission is free for children 11 and under. Use your Star Wars knowledge to win some prizes and have fun at Star Wars Trivia Night at Defiance Ridge Vineyards. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best Star Wars threads. In addition to the trivia, there will also be a Star Wars-themed cocktail, as well as wine. Price is $20 per team. Register online.

The inaugural STLCoffeeFest will highlight the local coffee scene, and attendees will be able to sample coffee, attend coffee workshops and connect with local roasters, baristas and coffee experts from around the St. Louis area. Guests can sip coffee and coffee-themed mocktails and cocktails, as well as coffee flavored treats like espresso ice cream and coffee-infused gooey butter cake. Ticket prices vary and are available for purchase on the festival’s website.

This self-guided tasting and pub crawl allows you to choose your own adventure through the many Cajun flavors in Soulard. Each ticket purchase includes one drink voucher and six food vouchers that can be redeemed at any participating establishment for a sample of that establishment’s listed signature dish. Tickets are $35 and are available online.

Celebrate Mardi Gras throughout the month of February in Soulard. Participate in a pub crawl scavenger hunt, sample food at a Cajun cook-off, run or walk in a 5k, take in adorable costumes on the four-legged participants in the pet parade, watch the wiener dog derby race, don your finest apparel to party at the Mayor’s Mardi Gras Ball and the festivities conclude on March 1, with the Grand Parade.
