Ten years is a long time. As we mark a decade in print this year, we reflected on how far we – and the local culinary community we document – have come. We’ve had a front-row seat for all of it: impressive new restaurants that have bulldozed through culinary boundaries; talented, young chefs who have made names for themselves both locally and nationally; and creative breweries, bars and bakeries that have bravely opened their doors.
This short film celebrates just that – the independent businesses, chefs and restaurateurs that have contributed to this dining scene we’re proud to call home. It takes courage, dedication and innovation to take a risk for something you’re passionate about, and we are amazed by those who display these qualities year after year. Independent, local businesses are the heart of our local culinary scene, and we are thankful and proud to be one of them.
It’s been an exciting privilege to cover the local dining scene for the past decade, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. So here’s to the next 10 years – may we keep St. Louis locally rooted, lively and a unique place to dine, drink and live well.
