Fitz’s Bottling Co. is expanding beyond its signature craft sodas with the launch of a new premium mixer line, marking the first time the longtime St. Louis beverage maker has entered the cocktail mixer category.
Available beginning today, Friday, June 5, the lineup includes Fitz’s Tonic Water, Fitz’s Tonic Water Zero and Fitz’s Club Soda. The products will be sold at Fitz’s Delmar and South County locations, as well as select retailers throughout the St. Louis area.
The move represents a natural extension for the company, which has built its reputation on small-batch soda production since 1993. Fitz’s leaders say the new mixers were developed to serve both cocktail and mocktail drinkers while maintaining enough flavor and balance to be enjoyed on their own.
“We’ve been bottling sodas in St. Louis since 1993, and expanding into mixers was a natural next step for us,” Fitz’s President and CEO Michael Alter said in a statement. “Our goal was to create a lineup that’s not only delicious straight out of the bottle but also elevates the consumer experience in the world of cocktails and mocktails.”
According to the company, the tonic water is made with natural quinine and citrus-forward notes of lemon, lime and orange bitters, while being lightly sweetened with cane sugar. A zero-calorie version offers the same flavor profile without added sugar. The club soda is crafted with triple-filtered water, Mediterranean sea salt and a moderate level of carbonation intended for both mixed drinks and standalone consumption.
To debut the new products, Fitz’s has partnered with St. Louis-based 4 Hands Brewing Co. and its 1220 Origin Gin brand. The collaboration highlights what the companies are calling a “So St. Louis G&T,” pairing locally produced gin with the new tonic water.
The mixer line is the latest addition to Fitz’s beverage portfolio as the company continues to grow beyond the craft soda category while emphasizing locally made products and small-batch production.
