After serving the community for eight years, Italian restaurant Benedetto’s on Main at 16721 Main St. in Wildwood has ceased operations. The closure was announced via a Facebook post and note in the window of the business.

“Our decision to close was not made lightly,” the statement read. “For the past several years we have struggled with rising food costs, an unsettling economic climate as well as continued staffing challenges. These challenges have added to our already busy lives.”

Shuttering the operation gives the ownership the opportunity to focus on other business ventures, as well as to spend more time with family and friends.

“We would like to express our deepest appreciation to our dedicated staff members who have worked tirelessly to provide exceptional service and delightful dishes over the years,” the statement continued. “We would also like to thank our customers, especially those who made Benedetto’s a part of their regular routine to dine with us. We will always cherish the memories and relationships that have been made over the years. We apologize to anyone who has future reservations and wish you well.”
