Take Root Hospitality co-owner Tara Gallina recently joined The Sauce podcast to talk about the team behind Vicia and Winslow’s Table as the hospitality group heads into its 10th year in business. Gallina shared how she and her husband, Michael, brought the farm-to-table philosophy they learned at Blue Hill at Stone Barns back to St. Louis, as well as what’s next for Vicia’s 10th anniversary and Winslow’s Table. Here, she shares five of her favorite St. Louis spots.

Union Loafers
“Loafers has been my go-to spot since I first moved to St. Louis. Michael and I have had so many important life conversations at the corner bar spot over the years. Both my kids are basically 50% Bistro Beef sandwiches, as it was my biggest pregnancy must-have. And really, I find no greater comfort than enjoying my favorite St. Louis sandwich, a cup of chicken and rice soup and a coffee soda alongside what is always a killer playlist.”

O+O Pizza
“I am so fortunate to call Webster Groves home, and O+O Pizza is our family’s go-to spot for occasions big and small. I am obsessed with their Caesar salad and spicy pepperoni pizza. My kids will tell you they have the best butter noodles in town.”

Comet Coffee
“Really good croissants are my weakness, and Comet’s are consistently some of the best in the city. Don’t sleep on the morning bun; it’s the perfect mix of crunchy sugar and buttery goodness.”

DD Mau
“Another Webster gem I would gladly drive across town for. My order always includes the shrimp spring rolls with spicy peanut sauce and the chicken tacos on roti tortillas. A special treat for our family is to go by after school for boba tea.”

Sado
“Date nights are hard to come by, but when we get a chance to head out just us, one of my favorite places to visit is Sado for sushi and cocktails. Chef Nick and his team craft such a fun and delicious experience.”
