The Ones To Watch cover is always a challenge. You want each person to get their moment on the cover, to show each of the individual’s personalities and (most importantly) you don’t want it to be like last time. Initially, I wanted to stage a creative group portrait, but it was soon clear that everyone’s schedules weren’t going to align for a shoot like that. So … we improvised. I asked photographer Carmen Troesser to shoot everyone on a white background, doing a variety of activities and looking in different directions so we could create interaction on the cover. We wanted them to have fun with it and not take it too seriously, which resulted in a light and playful cover to introduce this year’s Ones To Watch.
