121610_soupMost folks think of Ruth’s Chris for prime time sizzling steak dining. But since the steakhouse began opening its Clayton location on Fridays for lunch and offering an $8.95 Power Lunch menu, they’ve given us a trio of reasons to head to Forsyth Boulevard and Brentwood Boulevard when our tummies rumble at lunch time. Here are three of the five super-affordable Friday lunch specials we think you’ll want to try.
1. Ruth’s famous steak sliders. Why get weighed down at lunch with a fillet or ribeye? Order the sliders and you’ll come away more than satisfied with two, 2-ounce tenderloin sliders, blackened and topped with barbecue butter, plus your choice of french fries or garlic mashed potatoes.

2. Shrimp and crabmeat penne pasta. When penne is on the menu, you tend to think Italian. Not so with this pasta dish that features a not-too-spicy Creole cream sauce blended finely with chopped shrimp and crabmeat. A side salad easily turns this lunch special into a filling meal.

3. Gumbo. Order the soup and salad special and you’ll get a choice of three soups – lobster bisque, onion soup or gumbo. Ruth’s Chris’ Louisiana seafood and sausage gumbo is one tasty nod to the restaurant’s New Orleans roots, complete with a large mound of rice perched in the center. It comes with RC’s house salad.

The Power Lunch menu is only available at the Clayton location on Fridays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
