Recent podcast guests Cally and Rich Conyers own Gatsby Events and the speakeasy-style cocktail bar Prohibition, all of which are in the historic Centennial Malt House building at 2017 Chouteau Ave. in Lafayette Square. While their businesses keep them quite busy, they do like to get out and about around St. Louis when they can. Here, they share five spots where they keep returning.
Luvwoo Bar
“The husband and wife that own the bar (we’re a sucker for a husband/wife duo) are so welcoming and knowledgeable about cocktails. Their menu is extensive, the cocktails are fantastic, and they do so many fun activities and support groups to give the community a space to gather and connect.”
Sushi Koi
“We found this spot when we were living in Central West End, and it is still hands down the best sushi we’ve had in the St. Louis. Everything on the menu is amazing, but we really love their Caterpillar roll. The staff are so kind and the service is great.”
Gallery Pub
“We love a great neighborhood joint. The pizza is phenomenal. Try the Big Dill. You won’t regret it.”
Stone Turtle
Dogtown is such a fun, walkable area, and Stone Turtle is a great place to land for dinner and drinks. Their pork chops and steak frites are awesome. They also make a mean Old-Fashioned.”
The Bellwether
“Amazing food, great ambiance and service, and a fellow Lafayette Square restaurateur, all the makings of a memorable night out. Brian, one of their owners, is super knowledgeable and fun to chat with.”
