The James Beard Foundation Awards were held Monday night at Lincoln Center in New York, and although Gerard Craft of Niche Restaurant in Benton Park was not named Best Chef in the Midwest, we’re still overjoyed that he was nominated. (The title went to Tim McKee of La Belle Vie in Minneapolis.) Craft was the first St. Louis chef to make the finals of the highest honors in the food world.
