Raise a glass to the crew at Annie Gunn’s for being named to Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s list of 100 Best Wine Restaurants, as reported by the Post-Dispatch’s Joe Bonwich. Glenn Bardgett, wine director for the Chesterfield Valley restaurant and a Sauce contributor, noted that the national-level accolade is not based solely on the restaurant’s wine list, which highlights many Missouri wines, but on the entire wine program, including wine tastings, wine dinners and other wine-related events. “It’s the whole wine experience we have here,” said Bardgett. “We are the only one in Missouri [to make the list] and there are a lot of great restaurants in Missouri,” he added. The honor comes just months after Bardgett was named a semifinalist for a James Beard Foundation Award in the Outstanding Wine Service category. “It has been a good year,” summed Bargett.
