031210_TumsWe love TUMS – and not just because it’s “smut” spelled backwards. No, we love it because, as you surely know, TUMS candy-colored antacid tablets were created right here in the StL about 80 years ago, and they’re still manufactured here, too.

So it is with special pride that we enthuse about the St. Louis Blues‘ Free Food Game presented by TUMS.

All those entering Scottrade Center on March 21 (a 5 p.m. Sunday game, by the way, against the Nashville Predators) will receive a voucher redeemable for two hot dogs or a flock of chicken tenders, plus popcorn, and soda or water. The dinner is included in the ticket price.

Blues media relations coordinator Dan O’Neill said he gets calls every year from people excited about this deal, wanting to know when the Free Food Game will take place.

Incidentally, past incarnations of the Free Food Game have been an all-you-can-eat experience, which surely would have brought the TUMS into play for many, but the Blues decided not to encourage impromptu hot-dog-eating contests and scale things back a touch.
