Bougie Bites, a St. Louis-based plant-based food truck that’s been popular at Sauce Food Truck Fridays, is making a major move with the grand opening of its first brick-and-mortar location in Overland. The new restaurant will open its doors on Wednesday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at 10082 Page Ave., with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring Overland Mayor Marty Little.

Known for putting a bold spin on comfort food classics, Bougie Bites has built a loyal following since its launch during the pandemic. Founder Latoya Elnora, a lifelong foodie and entrepreneur, created the concept after late-night cravings left her unimpressed with the city’s limited plant-based options. She partnered with a local chef to develop a menu of small-batch, non-traditional vegan dishes that are flavorful, approachable and rooted in culture, not restriction.

Elnora, who isn’t vegan herself, said her mission is to make plant-based food more accessible and fun, not preachy. Since hitting the streets, the Bougie Bites truck has become a staple at festivals, private events and pop-ups across the region.

The new restaurant aims to expand that reach, offering customers a full dine-in experience while continuing to serve from the original food truck.

The grand opening celebration is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, bring friends, and get the full Bougie Bites experience.
