Boutique grocer Straub’s is celebrating Customer Appreciation Day this Saturday with samples, demonstrations and gifts for the first 100 customers (please – don’t bust down the door, Wal-Mart-style).
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 5, customers at all four Straub’s locations (in the Central West End, Clayton, Town & Country and Webster Groves) will enjoy a liberal festival of in-store samples, plus a sampling of a new array of smoked meats for summer under an outdoor tent. Under the tent you’ll even find a whole roast pig, which may be wearing a Cardinals cap. Has it been done? Maybe – but to quote the great Billy Dee Williams, “It works every time.”
