Two of our favorite St. Louis brands are teaming up. Dogtown Pizza and 4 Hands Brewing Co. have combined two local staples, pizza and beer, for a limited-edition pie infused with City Wide. We’re big fans of both brands, so we’re pretty stoked to try this one.
The Anniversary Edition pizza launches Oct. 1 at Schnucks and Dierbergs locations throughout the region, bringing together Dogtown Pizza’s 20th anniversary, City Wide’s 10th anniversary and National Pizza Month. The pie features sliced Italian sausage and onion, topped with Parmesan and Romano cheeses infused with City Wide, 4 Hands’ American pale ale.
It’s a fitting collaboration for Dogtown Pizza, which Rick and Meredith Schaper launched from their Dogtown home kitchen in 2006. The company’s St. Louis-style frozen pizzas are now sold at grocery stores and specialty markets throughout the region, and Dogtown Pizza was recently featured as a St. Louis landmark in Sauce Magazine.
And 4 Hands is no stranger to collaborations that celebrate the city. The brewery is one of our favorite partners at Sauce, and we’ve watched it find plenty of ways over the years to support St. Louis and the organizations that make it special. City Wide, which turns 10 this year, is a big part of that work. For every case sold, 4 Hands donates $1 to local nonprofit partners, an effort that has generated more than $450,000 for the St. Louis community.
The pairing also brings another iconic local brand into the picture: Dierbergs, where the pizza will be sold alongside Schnucks beginning Oct. 1.
“It’s incredible to think Dogtown Pizza started in 2006 out of my house in Dogtown, one of St. Louis’ most iconic neighborhoods, and to see where we are today,” said Rick Schaper, co-owner of Dogtown Pizza. “There’s no better way to celebrate than to team up with 4 Hands and create a pizza that’s generously topped with City Wide beer-infused cheese.”
4 Hands CEO and President Kevin Lemp said the collaboration was a natural fit for City Wide, which was created to bring people together while giving back to the community.
