121710_dumanteSo you thought The Vino Gallery, the newest addition to Gallery Row on McPherson Avenue in the Central West End, was only about fine art and wine? Think again. Owners Rachel Buehrer and Alex Head have created the Dumante Series, a liquid “exhibit” that introduces imbibers to Dumante Verdenoche, a primo Italian pistachio liqueur.

Today, the art gallery/wine store at 4701 McPherson Ave., will be offering the sweet, nutty-tasting, amber-colored Dumante in winter drinks like the Dumante Manhattan, a shaken mix of Dumante, Square One’s malt whiskey, blood orange bitters and a splash of maraschino syrup; and the you-can-make-this-at-home concoction of the creamy horchata-rum blend RumChata, with a splash of Dumante. The Dumante Series continues Dec. 31., when you can stop into The Vino Gallery before heading to your New Year’s bash and taste the liqueur paired with Prosecco and other bubbly.

While all samples are free and no reservations are necessary, guests who attend tonight’s event bearing a canned food item or other nonperishables for donation can purchase a full-sized Dumante cocktail for half price. For more information, call The Vino Gallery at 314.932.5665.
