Schlafly Bankside takes up residence in the Historic District of St. Charles’ Main Street.
Bankside’s downstairs floor features a dining room and bar, while its upstairs has a bar with two dining rooms. The third floor will be used as a private event space.
The building’s capacity is around 400 to 450 seats, according to Rogers, though social distancing will initially reduce that number.
Most Schlafly favorites will be available at Bankside; in the future, newer and more experimental beers brewed on site may pop up.
The retail shop will sell packaged beer, Schlafly swag and more.
Schlafly Bankside will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. As the COVID crisis passes, the brewery will extend its hours.
“Events are a big part of our culture,” Rogers said, speculating on Bankside’s future. “We’d like to figure out a way to do something in the St. Charles community.”
Schlafly Bankside takes over the space that Trailhead Brewing Co. previously occupied.
