An open house and tent sale taking place today and tomorrow at Ford Hotel Supply promises to be an amusement park for every culinarian – from the professional to the student to the die-hard home cook.

The open house is a showcase of the latest products in commercial kitchen equipment and restaurant supplies. More than 50 manufacturer representatives will be on hand to demo and discuss products, like The Ovention Matchbox (pictured above), a new commercial convection oven created by the same maker of the original Turbo Chef. The Matchbox can toast, bake, broil and more – and faster than ever due to its use of impinged air and two-sided conveyor. Winston IndutriesCVAP? You bet. Vollrath sous vide immersion circulators? Check. Among smaller appliances, we’re smitten with Vollrath’s induction soup rethermalizer – think mega slow cooker that can hold food at whatever temperature you want.

Everyone needs to replace glassware and china at some point. Ford has the latest among hot tabletop items like place settings in earth colors, circular off-shaped plates, mini cast-iron servers and the new retro cocktail line of stemware by Libbey (pictured).

The tent sale is a clearance blowout with low prices on everything from discontinued china to glassware in all shapes and sizes to kitchen equipment. The event will see giveaways and special deals, like a seven-piece Fibrox culinary kit by Victorinox discounted to less than $100 from its regular price of $236 and Alexa china (pictured below) by Homer Laughlin China Company.

When you need a break from shopping, head to the cafe inside the showroom. Enjoy complimentary food and drink as you watch demos of new juicers and food processors. As Ford owner Christy Schlafly summed, “There’s a little bit for everyone.”

The event, which is free and open to the public, takes place today, Oct. 21, and tomorrow, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ford Hotel supply is located at 2204 N. Broadway. For more information, including a printable coupon, go here.
