International Tap House, the craft beer bar known as iTap, will close its Delmar Loop location on Nov. 15, the business announced on social media Thursday, Oct. 29.

“Hey Everyone…it’s been a great five years in the Delmar Loop. However our final day of operation will be November 15. Stop by and see us before we close. After that come see us in historic soulard,” the post read.

Located at 6217 Delmar Blvd. in the Link in the Loop development near Delmar and Skinker boulevards, iTap opened in August 2021. The bar offered more than 40 draft beers, hundreds of bottled and canned options, plus whiskey, bourbon, cocktails, wine and cider. Customers could bring their own food or order from nearby businesses.

The closure leaves iTap’s Soulard location at 1711 S. Ninth St. as its only St. Louis outpost. The business also operates locations in Columbia, Missouri, and the Kansas City area, according to its website.

College friends Brad Lobdell and Sean Conroy opened the first International Tap House in Chesterfield in February 2009. The business expanded to Soulard in 2010 and later opened a Central West End location, which closed in July 2020 after the owners opted not to renew its lease. The Delmar Loop location followed in 2021, bringing the concept back to the city.

The announcement comes amid a difficult stretch for the St. Louis restaurant industry. In October, Session Taco, the restaurant brand formerly known as Mission Taco Joint, announced it would close its remaining locations in the Delmar Loop and Soulard, along with sister concept LaPeZ Mod Mex in the Central West End. The closures ended more than a decade of business for the restaurant group founded by brothers Adam and Jason Tilford.

In August, Salt + Smoke closed its St. Louis Hills and Ellisville locations, citing different operational challenges at the two restaurants. Six other locations of the barbecue restaurant remain open. Other high-profile closures this year have included Bailey’s Range and Bailey’s Chocolate Bar, while the Grove’s Everest Cafe and Bar and Lafayette Square’s 33 Wine Shop & Bar also closed.

The closure comes as the craft beer industry continues to contract. Missouri lost craft breweries in 2025, with production also declining, according to Axios. The national industry is facing similar challenges as consumers pull back on craft beer spending and drinking habits shift. St. Louis has also seen brewery closures in recent years, including Earthbound Beer in 2024 and Wellspent Brewing’s Midtown taproom in 2025.

While iTap’s announcement did not give a reason for the Delmar Loop closure, the timing adds another departure to a year of changes for the region’s bars, breweries and restaurants.

The Delmar Loop location will remain open through Nov. 15. Customers can continue visiting iTap in Soulard after the Loop bar closes.
