Award-winning St. Louis chef Kevin Nashan is bringing a new restaurant to Ballpark Village in August, marking his first St. Louis project since opening Peacemaker Lobster & Crab Co. in 2014.
Nashan has partnered with Live! Hospitality & Entertainment to open The Clydesdale – A Clark Avenue Tavern, an upscale American restaurant inside the Budweiser Brew House building on Clark Avenue, just outside Busch Stadium. The approximately 5,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor concept is designed to serve everything from pregame meals and happy hours to brunch, dinner and late-night gatherings.
The restaurant joins the Budweiser Brew House campus alongside the recently renovated Crown Room event space, Rooftop Bud Deck and AVA Garden Bar, as well as neighboring Clark Avenue restaurants including Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria, Salt + Smoke and Clark & Bourbon.
“We wanted to create the kind of restaurant people can return to again and again,” Nashan said in a statement. “Whether it’s grabbing a burger before the game, celebrating with friends or sitting down for dinner, great food, great drinks and genuine hospitality never go out of style.”
The menu will put a refined spin on classic tavern fare. Highlights include a seafood raw bar centered around the signature Crown Tower with oysters, caviar and jumbo shrimp, an eight-ounce wagyu blend Clyde’s Burger topped with house-made Thousand Island dressing, steak frites with beef tallow fries and house-made pastas like mezze rigatoni with Calabrian chile vodka sauce.
Behind the bar, guests can expect a cocktail menu featuring updated takes on classic drinks alongside original creations. The beer list will emphasize Anheuser-Busch brands while also showcasing local craft breweries.
The restaurant’s atmosphere will lean into nostalgic American tavern influences with a soundtrack featuring ’90s and early-2000s rock, plus live entertainment on select evenings. A spacious patio overlooking Clark Avenue is expected to become a focal point on Cardinals game days while also serving diners throughout the year.
Bill DeWitt III, CEO of the St. Louis Cardinals, said Nashan’s involvement adds another high-profile dining destination to the stadium district.
“Under Chef Nashan’s leadership, The Clydesdale will bring an elevated dining concept to Clark Avenue while creating a new gathering place for fans, residents and visitors,” DeWitt said in a statement.
The Clydesdale is the latest addition to Ballpark Village’s growing mix of restaurants, entertainment venues and residential offerings. Additional details, including an opening date, reservation information and special events, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
