Sick of winter? Well, in just a few days, the fine folks at Saint Louis Brewery are hosting a pair of events that promise to be good for what ales … er, ails you.
First, on Saturday, the Schlafly Bottleworks is presenting its Cabin Fever festival from noon to 4 p.m. For $25 in advance or $30 at the door, the event includes music by bluegrass act Cumberland Gap, a commemorative glass and samples of Schlafly brews that should help make the days seem less gray and cold – including two stouts, a tripel and a barleywine.
Then on Monday, from 5 to 10 p.m., the Schlafly Tap Room is celebrating the life of 18th-century Scottish poet Robert Burns, who wrote New Year’s Eve standard Auld Lang Syne, among many other pieces of verse. The event features haggis and other kilt-crowd cuisine, Schlafly’s seasonal Scotch ale and even bagpipers. Take that, Mother Nature.
