A hurdle has been cleared as Cory and Karen King, owners of Side Project Brewing, received approval yesterday, Jan. 4., from Maplewood Planning and Zoning board to brew beer in the city.
Cory King currently brews Side Project beer at Perennial Artisan Ales. In a statement, King said they were currently looking at space for brewing and barrel-aging in Maplewood that would be separate from its tasting room, The Side Project Cellar, at 7373 Marietta Ave., also in Maplewood. A brewery would allow for increased production and availability of Side Project’s barrel-aged beers and give interested imbibers a peek into the brewing process.
The Kings had no additional comment at this time.
