The Christmas news keeps coming this week. Tickets are now available for the Polar Express Train Ride, which begins its journey at St. Louis Union Station at 1820 Market St. in downtown St. Louis.
Don your best festive pajamas for the train ride from Union Station through downtown to the “North Pole” in this holiday celebration of The Polar Express, a highly popular children’s book that was later adapted to the big screen.
The event kicks off Nov. 15 and runs through Dec. 30 with multiple ride times available each night. We recommend going on a weekday, as those ticket-holders also receive a free ticket to ride the giant St. Louis Wheel, which offers breathtaking views of the city skyline and the millions of twinkling lights adorning both Union Station and the surrounding buildings.
If you have young children who haven’t gotten to experience this yet, you should really consider grabbing tickets as not much lights up their little eyes like receiving a jingle bell from Santa Claus. Can’t get enough Santa? You can also attend Breakfast with Santa at Union Station throughout the holiday season, and you won’t want to miss when the big man himself dives with sharks at the on-site aquarium. (Who knew Santa was scuba-certified?)
