St. Nicholas Greek Festival in the Central West End Credit: St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church

An annual St. Louis tradition, the St. Nicholas Greek Festival returns to the Central West End over Labor Day weekend from Saturday, Aug.  31, to Monday, Sept. 2.

Celebrate Greek culture at this family-friendly event held at the St. Nicholas Orthodox Christian Church at 4967 Forest Park Ave., just off Kingshighway Boulevard. There will be music, dancing and, of course, plenty of Greek food and drinks. Menu items include gyros, spanakopita, Greek salad, baklava, Greek beer and much more.

While you’re there, be sure to take a tour of the historic church and its stunning architecture. Don’t miss the gift shop, where you can pick up some souvenirs.

The event is free to attend and includes free parking in the BJH Laclede Garage just east of the festival grounds. While most of the event is held outside, the dining hall is air-conditioned to offer some respite from the heat.

The Greek festival runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Saturday and Sunday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Visit opastl.com for more information.
