Ted Drewes Frozen Custard has announced it will reopen its location at 4224 S. Grand Blvd. on Friday, May 26. The frozen custard institution’s tradition of opening the South Grand location for the summer season has been interrupted over the past few years due to the pandemic and staffing issues.

The announcement was made via Ted Drewes’ social media pages on May 23. The post thanked customers for their patience and declared, “If ever there was a sign that the world is ‘getting back to normal’ this is it!”

Starting Friday, the South Grand location will be open seven days a week, from 2 to 10 p.m. The other location at 6726 Chippewa St. is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Ted Drewes has operated the South Grand shop since 1931, making it the company’s longest-running location.
