Amen to this: New local brewery Cathedral Square has readied its first release, Belgian Abbey Ale.
Led by brewmaster Brian Neville, the brewery is part of a restaurant complex under construction at 3914 Lindell Blvd., which once housed the Playboy Club and more recently The City Grille and Brewhouse. Meantime, find Cathedral Square’s Abbey Ale on draft at Riddle’s Penultimate Café & Wine Bar in The Loop, The Royale in South City, The International Tap House in Chesterfield, and The Jive & Wail in Maplewood (and soon at its St. Peters location). Or stop by Riddle’s on Friday at 7 p.m. to celebrate the launch.
Neville plans to focus on Belgian styles; look for a white at St. Louis Microfest in May and a tripel to follow. And down the line you may see Cathedral Square bottled in bombers. “We’ve got a lot of things in the hopper,” he said.
