If you haven’t checked out Food Truck Row at 13th Street between Market and Chestnut Streets yet, put on your sunscreen and head on over. Mayor Slay’s office and the St. Louis Food Truck Association have been discussing a designated food truck area for more than six months now. And according to Jeff Pupillo, a board member of the association and co-owner of Sarah’s Cake Stop and Sarah’s Meltdown, so far, so good (despite the heat). “We think it’s going to be a good spot and prove to be successful,” Pupillo told The Scoop. He added, however, that there are some responsibilities the food truck owners must prove to be conscientious of before similar hubs are added to the city. “We as food trucks are in charge of having trash receptacles and doing clean up,” he said. “Right now, it’s still a trial.”
Need an excuse to check out Food Truck Row today? Hurry over to Curbside Cookery. After a soft opening yesterday, the new-to-the-streets truck is ready for its closeup. After you wish the truck’s crew luck on their grand opening, grab your burrito or grilled sandwich and head indoors. It’s a hot one!
