In between all the All-Star hoopla this weekend, be sure to check out downtown’s latest culinary offering: Red Kitchen and Bar, which opened Thursday night in the lobby of the new Hyatt Regency. Described by Edan Ballantine, the hotel’s food and beverage director, as a contemporary American grill, Red offers both buffet and a la carte options for breakfast and lunch (at midday, look for a salad bar featuring seasonal ingredients and a create-your-own pasta bar) and tapas-style dining at dinner. At night, the focus switches to the bar and lounge, which offers 18 wines by the glass, several sparkling wines by the glass, creative cocktails and – coming soon – a roving DJ who’ll play requests via a wireless system. Red Kitchen and Bar is open from 6 a.m. to 1:30 a.m., seven days a week.
