Longtime NFL coach Jim Hanifan is the face behind It’s a Better Burger, a burger joint that recently opened at 4881 Mexico Road, in St. Peters. Hanifan, who most recently held a role as an analyst with the Rams radio broadcast team, is one of the business partners behind the hamburger operation.
The menu at It’s a Better Burger is simple and straightforward: burgers and fries, with a grilled chicken sandwich, fish fillet sandwich and chicken tenders offered as well. When asked what made the half-pound burger so much better, an employee at It’s a Better Burger stated that the restaurant uses high-quality meat and a tasty secret seasoning to hand-make their juicy burgers. “The meat hasn’t been frozen,” he explained. “It doesn’t come as a patty; we cut it and form it. It’s a good, quality cut with the meat to fat [ratio] around 80 [percent] to 20 [percent].”
It’s a Better Burger is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Its Facebook page indicates that ownership is hoping to add other locations in the near future, a fact that was confirmed by the employee at the St. Peters location, who indicated that the second location is expected to land in Chesterfield.
