Look for root beer and other soda made by St. Louis-based Fitz’s Bottling Co., to be sold in more area restaurants, grocery stores and other retail outlets. As reported by the St. Louis Business Journal, Fitz’s owner Michael Alter recently signed distribution deals with six local Anheuser-Busch wholesalers and, as a result, Fitz’s will be increasing production of its famous root beer as well as other popular sippers made at the craft soda microbrewery in The Loop. Fitz’s aficionados should also stay on the lookout for new flavors, including a berry cola and a coffee soda, the latter of which is being developed in partnership with locally based Kaldi’s Coffee Roasting Co., and could hit the streets as early as this fall.
