Joe Sanfilippo, owner of J.F. Sanfilippo’s downtown, is diving into the Chesterfield Valley restaurant scene. Filippo’s Italian Kitchen and Bar will open in early October at 120 Chesterfield Valley Drive, in the space formerly occupied by Tribeca Lounge.
The restaurant will offer a small menu that showcases the most popular dishes from Sanfilippo’s downtown eatery. Examples, according to Sanfilippo, include Rigatoni Giuseppe, rigatoni pasta with fresh tomato in a spicy vodka cream sauce; Tenderloin Danny Cox, petite filets topped with fresh eggplant, tomatoes and onions, along with melted Provolone and mozzarella cheeses; and Gamberi Bianco, which features jumbo shrimp swimming in a Cajun brandy cream sauce.
Initially, Filippo’s Italian Kitchen and Bar will serve dinner Monday through Saturday; lunch and Sunday hours will be added soon afterward.
