La Tejana Taqueria owner Tyler Garcia is not going to waiting for you to visit his brick-and-mortar Mexican restaurant at 3149 N. Lindbergh Blvd., in North County. He’s bringing the taquería to you. Garcia recently bought the now-defunct Papa Tom’s food truck. He gave it a Tejana makeover and sent the Mexican food-mobile onto the streets last Saturday.
The truck offers an abbreviated menu of that available at the restaurant. Burritos, tortas and tacos – including fried tacos – comprise the primary offerings. Garcia noted that he hopes to add combination plates in the future. La Tejana Taqueria also offers a rotation of house-made drinks. Look for agua fresca in flavors like watermelon, mango, strawberry and exotic mamey, as well as horchata.
The truck will be roaming in St. Louis city and county. You can track it on Twitter or keep up with its whereabouts on Facebook.
