Labeebee’s Mid-East Cafe is now open at 2609 Cherokee St. Owners Justin and Shelby Shire recently relocated their casual Middle Eastern eatery from its original downtown location to a 35-seat space at the corner of South Jefferson Avenue and Cherokee Street.
In addition to offering popular items from the hummus bar and wraps such as the lamb shawarma, the Shires have added a few new dishes to Labeebee’s menu including a falafel salad, a spinach and artichoke pizza and a shawarma pizza – a combination of hummus, kalamata olives, onions and feta cheese, topped with lamb or chicken, on a pita pizza crust.
Labeebee’s is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., although plans are in the works to open daily and to extend the hours to 11 p.m. for late-night diners looking for healthy Mid-East fare.
