St. Charles residents looking for a night spot may want to walk into Lion’s Den, the bar and restaurant at 3721 Mexico Road near Cave Springs Road. Owner Gary Wagner, who is also part owner of Concetta’s Italian Restaurant in St. Charles, along with his business partners, has given the space a makeover, turning it into a lively venue for casual eating and live music.
The menu at Lion’s Den includes standard American bar fare: fried apps, steak bites and quesadillas among starters, plus burgers, pizzas and sandwiches as entrées. Sit-down lunch and dinner service is available seven days a week, but it’s really the beverage side that’s driving folks to Lion’s Den. The bar offers nightly drink specials that imbibers are enjoying with live music on Tuesday evenings as well as Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
