Doors opened yesterday at the new Llywelyn’s Pub in Wildwood. The Celtic pub is located at 2490 Taylor Road in the Dierbergs shopping plaza on Manchester/Highway 100. The Scoop reported last October that the pub, which first opened in 1975 with a location in the Central West End and has since expanded to Soulard, St. Charles, Webster Groves and O’Fallon, Mo., was headed to Wildwood.

The Celtic-American food menu at this Llywelyn’s location mirrors the fare at the other five area locations. A chef special is also offered daily; advertised on the chalkboard today is a cinnamon-ginger pear salad (pictured). Served from behind the antique bar are more than 45 beers on tap and more than 30 bottled selections.

In addition to areas for dining, the Wildwood location includes space for private events, a game room and an expansive patio with seating for more than 150. Llywelyn’s has long been a popular spot for watching sports games, and this location – with 13 big-screen TVs and numerous tables to seat parties of 10 or more – continues in this vein. Llywelyn’s Pub is open daily from 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m., closing at midnight on Sundays.
