Jacob Portnoy, owner of Majic Market, is getting ready to reopen his deli/convenience store. For the last seven years, Portnoy had operated his 20-year-old biz out of the space at 500 W. Essex Ave., in Kirkwood, but he closed the doors last January when the space was taken over by Kirkwood Deli and Market. The latest incarnation of Majic Market will be located at 640 W. Woodbine Ave., just a few blocks south of its previous home. July 5 has been slated as the date for a grand reopening. And yes, Majic Market most definitely will be serving up its customer fave: gyros.
